Her first owie!

27 Sep

Baby girl got her first owie this morning! :( She was walking around and fell on the corner of the bench and cut her chin in 2 different places. They aren’t huge cuts, barely scratches really, but she’s never been hurt before so it was very dramatic. I called Dylan, mom, and Chris to tell them about it. That’s pathetic right?

Anyway, Christian Jaden is supposed to have his 3rd birthday party today! He had one with just his daddy and him on his birthday. Then he had one with just our family (the Davis, Krahn, Teel groups) on his birthday. And today is one for his brothers and sisters and everyone else. I hope to get some family pictures of them all.

Audrey is not going to be Alice in Wonderland for Halloween. The costume is ENTIRELY too big and I thought I did the demisions right, but apparently no. So, I have to decide on something different for her and finish up Alice for my niece Raven.

Bah Humbug….or something like that. Anywho. I have to run. Lots to do before party #3. ♥

Maddie’s Halloween Costume is done!

21 Sep

And I sewed it all by myself. And I did it in just a few hours. And it looks pretty awesome! All we have to do now is just get his wig and make-up. I am going to add something still on the collar because I don’t like the way it looks and I might put some patches and pom-poms on it. Maybe some ric-rac too. I haven’t decided on that yet. Anyway….enough rambling, here’s the picture:

Next up I am going to finish off Audrey’s and I still have Spencer’s to start (maybe Jakob’s, still don’t know about him). I am going to make Alex a clown and if Lauren wants, Christian too. Anyway….I have to get laundry started. Thank goodness tomorrow is a school day! ♥

Surprise!

20 Sep

This is what I came home to yesterday afternoon:

Lovely little yard signs

Lovely little yard signs

I already had the Obama and Jim Roth sign, but Mae Scott came by while we were gone and gave us the John Moore and Obama/Biden sign. So far, there’s been no attempt to steal them so I am thrilled with that. It’s only a matter of time though.

Last night, Dare and Slaylen spent the night over with Jakob and Spencer. You have no idea how exhausting 5 boys, 1 toddler, and a puppy can be until you experience it first hand!

Yesterday, Randal Danger had to go get his mange dip and his final round of puppy shots. He thinks he is tough shit now. He growls and barks at everyone….even Dylan. But once he realizes who he is, he knocks it off right away and becomes the lover dog.

He started throwing up this morning along with uncontrollable shivering and refusing to eat or drink. I called the vet and he concluded that he probably got a nice taste of the dip and that’s causing to have an upset tummy. He said the shivers were a normal reaction to the dip. They said he was a rowdy little dude for the dip bath. He gave me some regalan to give to him to combat the nausea and vomiting. So far so good.

Here’s the most recent pic of our babe:

The  boys had their parent teacher conferences on Thursday. Maddux is doing WONDERFUL! His teacher said he is very well behaved (yeah, I was shocked too) and that he was doing well. He needs to work on a few of his gross motor skills (standing on one foot, hopping on one foot, etc.) and buckle down on his handwriting but other than that he is doing great.

Spencer is doing good too except for writing a few of his numbers backwards still. That is the only real issue he is having. I haven’t seen his progress report yet.

Jakob’s teacher conference went super too. He is doing great as far as grades go and he is behaving perfectly! I can not tell you how awesome it was to not have the teacher telling me he talked too much. She said that that day at school though, he got a pissy (not verbatim) attitude with her and she had never seen that from him before. She didn’t understand why he was having such a bad day and she asked him, but he kept saying nothing was wrong.

We got home and started talking to him and got to the bottom of what the issue was. They have Honor’s Choir at their school. Jakob tried out for it and was told to go back the next week because he has voice troubles. He went back, still having the voice trouble, and he didn’t make it. He was upset because he is the only one that tried and didn’t make it.

I know he isn’t going to be the next great singer because he does have that thing with his voice that makes him sound like he is losing it and I know that I can’t get mad because my kid wasn’t accepted, but I still ache for him having to go through that rejection at such a young age. Even though I am very much for not coddling kids and hate people who think that we all have to win when there’s only supposed to be one winner, there’s still that piece of me that would like to smack that teacher upside the head for telling him he isn’t good enough.

Anyway, I really need to get up and shower and clean house so I can chill and sew, so I am out! ♥

HA! I know you thought I wouldn’t blog today!

16 Sep

Too bad you were wrong  right?  It seems my spacebar is broken, this is not cool!

Today has been mildly busy, but not too much so. I just fixed my spacebar. Anyway, we went to visit Cindy at work and had some lunch there. Audrey was a HAM for all the ladies. She would fall in the floor and then vogue while she was laying there. She had them cracking up.

After that, Alex came to play for a bit. We took him on a wagon ride that he completely loved, watched some Elmo and played Rescue Hereos. He had so much fun here. Dylan loved having him too. I think he secretly  misses having a baby boy. I know I do.

After school, the guys came home and went out to skateboard. Jakob and his buddies were skating all over the driveway while Maddux rode his bike and Spencer got pissy because he was (all together now) “BOOOORRREEEEDDD”.

I am too sleepy to get into any deep thoughts or anything, so here are a few pictures from today:

Blogging just to blog!

13 Sep

I am forcing myself to write something today. I have a bad habit of going months without a single blog and I am trying to be better about it by writing something everyday. 21 days to form a habit, right?

Randal Danger is currently barking at Maddux for being on “his” chair. You see, he took ownership of maddux’s Elmo chair and won’t let anyone touch it anymore without getting cranky. They just ran to Randal’s bed and Mad is tucking him in and cuddling him. Rare moment.

Spencer and Jakob spent the night with Dare and Slaylen last night. No idea when they will be home, but I am sure they will be super cranky when they get here. They always are.

I am going to go watch Real Time with Bill Maher and then get ready for the OU game tonight. Don’t forget SNL premieres tonight and Obama won’t be making his appearance because of Ike.

Speaking of which, I hope everyone’s homes are ok and my Julie gets her power back sooner rather than later! ♥
