This is what I came home to yesterday afternoon:

Lovely little yard signs
I already had the Obama and Jim Roth sign, but Mae Scott came by while we were gone and gave us the John Moore and Obama/Biden sign. So far, there’s been no attempt to steal them so I am thrilled with that. It’s only a matter of time though.
Last night, Dare and Slaylen spent the night over with Jakob and Spencer. You have no idea how exhausting 5 boys, 1 toddler, and a puppy can be until you experience it first hand!
Yesterday, Randal Danger had to go get his mange dip and his final round of puppy shots. He thinks he is tough shit now. He growls and barks at everyone….even Dylan. But once he realizes who he is, he knocks it off right away and becomes the lover dog.
He started throwing up this morning along with uncontrollable shivering and refusing to eat or drink. I called the vet and he concluded that he probably got a nice taste of the dip and that’s causing to have an upset tummy. He said the shivers were a normal reaction to the dip. They said he was a rowdy little dude for the dip bath. He gave me some regalan to give to him to combat the nausea and vomiting. So far so good.
Here’s the most recent pic of our babe:

Randal Danger is handsome
The boys had their parent teacher conferences on Thursday. Maddux is doing WONDERFUL! His teacher said he is very well behaved (yeah, I was shocked too) and that he was doing well. He needs to work on a few of his gross motor skills (standing on one foot, hopping on one foot, etc.) and buckle down on his handwriting but other than that he is doing great.
Spencer is doing good too except for writing a few of his numbers backwards still. That is the only real issue he is having. I haven’t seen his progress report yet.
Jakob’s teacher conference went super too. He is doing great as far as grades go and he is behaving perfectly! I can not tell you how awesome it was to not have the teacher telling me he talked too much. She said that that day at school though, he got a pissy (not verbatim) attitude with her and she had never seen that from him before. She didn’t understand why he was having such a bad day and she asked him, but he kept saying nothing was wrong.
We got home and started talking to him and got to the bottom of what the issue was. They have Honor’s Choir at their school. Jakob tried out for it and was told to go back the next week because he has voice troubles. He went back, still having the voice trouble, and he didn’t make it. He was upset because he is the only one that tried and didn’t make it.
I know he isn’t going to be the next great singer because he does have that thing with his voice that makes him sound like he is losing it and I know that I can’t get mad because my kid wasn’t accepted, but I still ache for him having to go through that rejection at such a young age. Even though I am very much for not coddling kids and hate people who think that we all have to win when there’s only supposed to be one winner, there’s still that piece of me that would like to smack that teacher upside the head for telling him he isn’t good enough.
Anyway, I really need to get up and shower and clean house so I can chill and sew, so I am out! ♥
