Back to school, back to school

I will write about their day when they get home!

Both boys had great days!

Spencer got to experience Music class for the first time ever and he REALLY liked that. He chose a hamburger for lunch (instead of grilled cheese). He made a lot of friends but couldn’t remember their names giggle! . And he thinks he is REALLY going to like First Grade.

Jakob has a few friends from last year in his class again and that made him really happy. (Even the girl he had a crush on last year is in his class again)! He thinks the math is going to be a lot harder and he is a bit bummed that he won’t be coloring much in 2nd grade, but overall he likes it!

Spencer was given a “new” teacher. I don’t know anything about her (whether she has taught before and things like that), but I do know she is new to their school.

Jakob has a teacher who has been there awhile and so far I like her. I signed up to be homeroom mom, which is a little scary, but I like to be involved. And since I don’t have a kid at WR this year (where parents are ALWAYS involved, I had to do something)!

Spencer’s class room is the same class room Jakob was in last year. I was really emotional walking into it yesterday, I almost started to cry. Not because my baby was going to 1st grade, but because that is where Mrs. Mays was. And it just made me feel so sad for her all over again. Her kids would have started school 2 weeks ago.

Anyway, that pretty much sums up their first day!

Silly Jakob!

Spencer got 10 bucks from the tooth fairy (you know, inflation and all). He was VERY excited about it. He came to me this morning and asked me who the president on his 10 “daughters” was. Jakob said very matter of factly “That’s George Clooney”! I was DYING laughing!

Toothless Wonder

Spencer finally pulled not one, but TWO teeth tonight!

We were at Braum’s today having lunch with Dylan when I told Jakob he needed to pull some more of his baby teeth cause he looked goofy (totally kidding with him of course) when Dylan asked Spencer about his teeth. Spencer said they were a “little” loose. I naturally stuck my finger in his mouth (like any good mother would :p) and pushed on them a bit and they immediately moved! They were a LOT loose!

Then we noticed that right behind those 2 VERY loose teeth were his big boy teeth popping through. The boys and I went home and Spence and I immediately got to work on wiggling and jiggling those teeth. We decided to try an apple, which didn’t work the way we had hoped, but it did help to loosen them quite a bit!

He preferred someone else wiggling his teeth, so I wiggled and jiggled them for a few hours. Then we gave up and took a nap. We woke up and went to pick Dylan up from work. When we got back home, he skirted around wiggling them some more so we just relaxed and watched TV.

A little bit after 8, he came running to us to tell us that one was for sure almost out! We all went into the living room to watch the event! He pulled the first one out all by himself! The blood freaked him out so he ran straight to the bathroom to take care of it. Dylan went in with him, to make sure he wasn’t spazzing and they decided to try to get the other tooth. After not 5 minutes, it was out!

He is SO proud of himself! And we are SO proud of him! When Jakob lost his first tooth, Spencer SWORE he was not loosing his until he was 6 years old! He held to that too!

Six Flags (part 2)

I never wrote about the first time we went to Six Flags this year…But we went on Memorial Day and Jake and Spencer both shocked us!

I didn’t think they could shock us anymore….until we went back yesterday! Maddie stayed with Grandma and apparently had a BLAST (judging by the fact that he didn’t immediately want to go home with us)!
The biggest ride Spencer went on was the La Vibora ! It was such a fun ride! The picture up top shows him riding it and SMILING! Hello?? The kid SMILED on the ride! I have to say, standing in line for it, I kept telling Dylan that I was scared, but I was doing it so that the kids didn’t see me trembling or hear me saying it! Dylan was telling us that he had ridden it before and there was always hats that people had lost lining the track…sure enough, we go on it and see at least 20 hats all over the ride!

Jakob’s biggest ride was the Titan ! Yes, that says a 255′ first drop at 85 MPH with the maximum G-force at 4.5! My baby rode that ride not once, but TWICE! And he LOVED it! He now calls the Texas Giant the Texas Shrimp! It even goes under ground for a few seconds!

We also rode Splash Water! When we went back in May, Spencer rode the ride one time and hated it! When the boat hit the water he was very near tears. This time around, it became his favortie ride and he INSISTED we ride it 3 times! I was amazed….although, we did have to bribe him with the promise of 3 carnival games if he rode it the first time.

Another ride we had to bribe him to ride was the Runaway Mine Train (also the ONLY coaster I will ever ride)! When he got off of it, he loved it! At one point, he even held his hands up in the air!

Judge Roy Scream is one that Dylan and Jakob tried to get me and Spencer both on! I was never so thankful as I was when Spencer started crying saying he didn’t want to ride! Shockwave is another of Jakob’s favorites! It scares me when he gets on it! BAD!

The Roaring Rapids was one of MY most favorite rides! It was a lot of fun! It was a big innertube that seated about 8 people and you just sort of float along! As you float water splashes into the tube and people get wet! Dylan and Jakob (who sat beside each other) got wet first! Not too soaked, but me and Spencer laughed at them! The next few minutes of the ride were spent with people laughing at Spencer and I, who by the time the ride was over, were SOAKED from head to toe! I mean so soaked we had to wring our clothes out! Thank goodness it was hot!

If I think of anything else to write about, I will. But for now, here’s the list of all the rides we rode! Some all of us rode, a few only a couple of us rode! And it’s not including the multiple times we rode some of the rides!
