Taking the plunge

27 Nov

It’s time. Maddux has a slim desire to sit on the toilet and try to go pee, so we are going with it. I doubt anything will come of it, but wouldn’t it be nice if it did. Then I could break my 8 year streak of constantly changing diapers for a few months? But alas, it won’t happen. Maddux is my son and being my son means he has a stubborn streak a mile wide. But it can’t hurt to try!

I am still no where near the completion of Jakob’s Christmas Tree costume and I have no idea if I will ever be done with it. This is crazy. I also have to pull through with my home room mother duties and help plan the Christmas party. I really wish I would have known I was pregnant before I signed up for that job

Spencer had his Thanksgiving feast last week and though he did have a line in the program, I have NO idea what he actually said. It was super cute though.

Alexander Michael arrived on November 17, 2006.

That’s about all the updates I have for now. Click here to take a peek. :)

Halloween 2006

01 Nov

Spiderman, Superman, and Jack Sparrow had an awesome Halloween! They got SO much candy we don’t know what to do with it.

We went downtown with Tanya, Destiny, Layla, and Brady and almost as soon as we got out there daddy showed up. Maddux was to into to saying much while we were downtown. I think it was just too crowded and a little too much for him. Overwhelming for sure.

After we went downtown, we went to visit Grandma and Packawe (Grandpa). They got lots of yummy candy for mommy themselves there. We played with Katie for a little bit and decided we better get the show on the road.

We went to our super awesome favorite neighborhood. Spencer was all over the place! You would have thought that child had already eaten a few too many pixie sticks the way he was running around. It took Maddux a couple of houses to get the whole “trick-or-treat” saying down. For the first couple of houses he was just holding his bucket up for people. By the end of the night though, he was saying “Trick-or-Treat”, “Thank You” and “Halloween” (aka Happy Halloween). Jakob also had a super time!

They got so much candy that by the end of the night, Maddux was holding his bucket with 2 hands! It is enough to fill all 3 of their buckets, plus our collander! (I didn’t have anywhere else to put it)

We went to Gran and Papa’s house next, where the boys had just as much fun handing out candy as the did getting it. There buckets got even heavier there!

Then we decide it was dinner time. 10 minutes til 8 we walked into Denny’s cause it was kids eat free night. We ordered and waited and waited and waited some more. By 9 we decided to just go through Burger King’s drive-thru and go home, cause the kids had school in the morning. So we got up and I told the hostess that we weren’t paying for our drinks (we had 3 waters and 2 cokes (that were barely touched)) because they barely drank them and we were sitting for an hour. She looked at me like I was growing horns or something.

We got home at 9:20 (keep in mind we left Denny’s at 9) and ate and went to bed! We were all exhausted and I think it took us all about 10 minutes to fall asleep.

I didn’t get Jakob’s eye make-up all the way off last night so i told him to make sure he washed his face well when he showered this morning. It still didn’t come off. I got some baby oil and got most of it off, but he still went to school looking a little like Billy Joe. He also wore his Green Day shirt.

I have been loving on my birthday boy all morning long! I tell him Happy Birthday Maddux and he says Happy Birthday to you, mommy! I could just keep him this little forever! :sigh:
