Little Updates!

25 Aug

Not a whole lot is going on lately. Trying to get back into the swing of school. It gets a little crazy some mornings, but we are adjusting.

By now, I am sure all of you have heard about Spence and the mess he just went through. I am super happy to report that he has adjusted well to being back in the first grade. He’s made new friends and seems overall more relaxed than he did for the 4 days he spent in second grade.

I am still super livid with the teacher from last year, but I’ve moved on. I just don’t understand how it was that he was on the honor roll all year last year only to have to go back and repeat first grade. I don’t think we will ever trust one teachers opinion ever again. I am just glad that the teacher he had for his short stay in second grade didn’t mess around and let him fall so far behind he would never have caught up.

Audrey started eating solid foods last Sunday. She L-O-V-E-S to eat! Not that there was any doubt that she would. She has been eating rice cereal for almost a week and tomorrow for new foods Sunday she is having oatmeal cereal! YUM! I can’t believe she’s already old enough to eat solids.

We took her to the Dr yesterday because she spit up some nasty stuff and it concerned me. Turns out it was nothing to be worried about, but we did find out the chunkster weighed 15 pounds 12 ounces!!! Keep in mind, she is barely over 4 months old!

Maddux starts school on September 4th! I can not wait! Neither can he. I know I am going to cry, but they will be happy-ish tears. We need a break from each other. In one year, he will be going to real (free) school. It’s crazy my baby is that old.

Jakob is doing really well so far. He got a 100 on his first spelling test. All of his grades are looking pretty good so far and I really like his teacher. (I will ignore how she started talking about the “super” elementary school in the middle of our curriculum meeting) He’s excited that she isn’t going to put restrictions on what he reads this year like last year. Last year he could only read book in a certain level. She wants him to just read, regardless of the level.

Anyway, that’s about all that’s going on here lately. I put pictures of Audrey eating up and changed the settings in the gallery so that the newest pictures show up on the front page. Enjoy!

School!

07 Aug

It’s that great time of year again! I am SO ready to get these guys back in school. It’s been a long, boring summer due to the weather and the baby. It was nearly impossible to get out and do anything fun at all!

Jakob and Spencer had their checkups yesterday and they are both growing well. Nothing wrong with either of them. Gina gave me the official OK for Jakob to get out of his booster seat. I still don’t feel he is tall enough so we are going to compromise. He can be without it in town, but if we go out of town he has to use it.

We are taking them school shopping this weekend. I am ready to get it over with. There’s a lot we need to buy. I am not too uptight about it though because we are going to go shopping in Norman and OKC so there will be some variety.

Maddie is 100% potty learned. He’s such a big boy! I went to Head Start today to see about putting him in the 3 year old program, but they were filled up already. He is on the waiting list and there’s a chance that he will get to enroll sometime this year because kids will drop out, but who knows how long that will take, if it happens at all. So I called a Preschool in town that you have to pay for to see about their prices and enrollment and I am almost positive that we are going to put him in there. The prices are really reasonable and I know he will love it.

He will start going on the 2 day a week program and if he does well there then we will do 3 days a week. If head start happens to call us in the meantime, then great. If not, then he will still be going to school.

Audrey is doing great. She’s smiley and talkative and she growls! A lot! She’s on the cusp of rolling over. She’s about outgrown all of her 3-6 month clothes and she is only 3 and a half months old!  She will be eating from a spoon before long. She is C-H-U-N-K-Y!!

Anyway, that’s about all the update I have in me.
