Not a whole lot is going on lately. Trying to get back into the swing of school. It gets a little crazy some mornings, but we are adjusting.
By now, I am sure all of you have heard about Spence and the mess he just went through. I am super happy to report that he has adjusted well to being back in the first grade. He’s made new friends and seems overall more relaxed than he did for the 4 days he spent in second grade.
I am still super livid with the teacher from last year, but I’ve moved on. I just don’t understand how it was that he was on the honor roll all year last year only to have to go back and repeat first grade. I don’t think we will ever trust one teachers opinion ever again. I am just glad that the teacher he had for his short stay in second grade didn’t mess around and let him fall so far behind he would never have caught up.
Audrey started eating solid foods last Sunday. She L-O-V-E-S to eat! Not that there was any doubt that she would. She has been eating rice cereal for almost a week and tomorrow for new foods Sunday she is having oatmeal cereal! YUM! I can’t believe she’s already old enough to eat solids.
We took her to the Dr yesterday because she spit up some nasty stuff and it concerned me. Turns out it was nothing to be worried about, but we did find out the chunkster weighed 15 pounds 12 ounces!!! Keep in mind, she is barely over 4 months old!
Maddux starts school on September 4th! I can not wait! Neither can he. I know I am going to cry, but they will be happy-ish tears. We need a break from each other. In one year, he will be going to real (free) school. It’s crazy my baby is that old.
Jakob is doing really well so far. He got a 100 on his first spelling test. All of his grades are looking pretty good so far and I really like his teacher. (I will ignore how she started talking about the “super” elementary school in the middle of our curriculum meeting) He’s excited that she isn’t going to put restrictions on what he reads this year like last year. Last year he could only read book in a certain level. She wants him to just read, regardless of the level.
Anyway, that’s about all that’s going on here lately. I put pictures of Audrey eating up and changed the settings in the gallery so that the newest pictures show up on the front page. Enjoy!
