That’s all I got as I dropped my baby boy off at his first day of school. No dramatic pleas to stay and never leave his side. No lonely tear of sadness to let me know he would at least miss me a little bit. Nothing! Nothing but a big old “Bye Mom!”.
He really had a good day! I got there to pick him up and he was napping! Maddie Ryan was NAPPING! They said he really played hard today. He worked on Apple Annie (the letter A) today, learned a new song, colored and went to Chapel.
When we got there, they had his art box set up on his table at his spot and in it were crayons, a glue stick, pencils, and a pair of scissors! I guarantee at some point this year, a certain 3 year old we all know will have a nice new haircut.
We bought him a Superman pillowcase just like the one he has here for naptime and he is SUPER excited about that.
It surely was lonely without him here today. But it really is a good thing. Next year he will be going to school 5 days a week/7 hours a day. So this will make that a little easier.
