2 days worth of work and we still aren’t done!

17 Jan

So…we’ve moved rooms and with the move came painting. Painting over 5-6 year old color crayon. Not a fun experience. Not wanting to mess with primer, we went and got the darkest color we could find that would effectively cover up the crayon. Lucky for us, we found one and I absolutely love it. We aren’t completely through though. We still have to paint the trim and window sills (white) and then work on getting them matching bedding, but overall what we’ve done so far is about a million times better than what it was. (Don’t bother to look at the rest of the house yet though) For bedding I am thinking this. I think it will best match the walls and not be too grown or too baby.

Anyway here are a few pics….keep in mind we aren’t exactly done yet so it looks a bit messy:

And on another note, Pumpkin head has started waving and saying bye-bye. It’s too frigging cute. And this is her new favorite thing to do:

Yep, she pulls herself into a standing position. Today she started taking steps while doing it. She is going to be walking before long! SCARY!

There’s a sentence one should never have to hear!

Last night was a hectic night. Jakob had a friend stay over and things got a little rowdy. Finally the boys got settled down at around 10:30. They all fell asleep by 10:45. Spencer was extremely tired I suppose and slept super hard.

I was laying on the couch watching TV dozing in and out of sleep. At about 1 in the morning, I saw Spencer walking into the kitchen. He was going to get a drink, or so I thought.

I heard water running and then saw Spencer walking out of the kitchen pulling his pants up. ::shock:: Then it hit me “Spencer, did you just pee in the refrigerator?” He said no. I asked him why he was pulling his pants up and he said because I have to.

OMG! I went into the kitchen and looked in the fridge and sure enough, he peed all over the refrigerator!

What can you do in that situation except laugh? It was so disgusting and I had to throw away so much food (mostly fruit I bought the day before) but I couldn’t get mad at him. He didn’t know what he was doing. So if I didn’t laugh about it while I was cleaning pee out of my fridge, I would have cried.

This kind of thing would probably only ever happen in my house.

She’s a sitter!

Finally! Audrey can officially sit up by herself. This is fantastic news since I got tired of the weird looks I got when I told people my 8 month old baby couldn’t sit up by herself. It’s also great that she has more freedom to play since she can sit herself up.

Today is report card day. I am anxious to see how Spencer did. I know Jakob is on the honor roll but I am not sure about Spencer.

Happy New Year!

01 Jan

I think we were all out by 9:30 last night.

Audrey is teething something fierce. So much so that she’s run fever for 5 days and the ER doctor gave her Tylenol with codeine so she could get some sleep (and us too).  I still have my curiosity about the fever being related to the teething because she has lots of cold symptoms also, but she checked out all fine the other night. I took her to the ER Saturday night because with the way she was screaming, I thought for sure she had an ear infection. But nope, nothing at all but teeth.

Maddie rung in the New Year with a nasty illness also. He woke up this morning feverish and coughing every where. If he doesn’t sound any better in the morning we will be making a run to the doctor’s office. They never get sick of seeing us.

Spencer just finished up a round of antibiotics and has a lovely inhaler for coughing fits. We haven’t had to use it in a couple of days which is great.

We practiced bike riding and Heely’s the other day and they are getting the hang of them. Well, Jakob is anyway. Spencer just wants to be able to tell his friends he has Heely’s whether he knows how to work them or not.

It won’t be long before Jake is cruising his two-wheeler all over the neighborhood.

Anyway, so far, 2008 has started off with a whole lot of sickness, way too much LOST and tons of lounging!
