2 parents….5 kids??

14 Apr

It’s a boy! Our new baby!

No, I am not pregnant (tubes tied, remember?). Christian is staying with us this week while Chris and Lauren are out of town dealing with something I hope to be able to talk about soon.

For those who don’t know, Christian is our almost 7 month old nephew. He has to be the most content baby you have EVER seen. He’s been here since 7 last night and so far things are running smoothly. Check in with me on that come Thursday. :p

He and Audrey are on 2 different eating schedules when it comes to bottles and it completely cracks me up when I am shaking a bottle for one of them and they both freak out thinking it’s theirs even though one of them might have eaten only 2 hours ago.

Right now, Christian is sleeping and Aud is doing her best to try and wake him up by screaming. I am sure it’s going to happen soon. Maddie is watching Spongebob and I am enjoying the peace until Jake and Spence get home.

Lauren and I went coupon shopping the other night. Never mind the fact that we started shopping at 6:30pm and didn’t get through until 3:30am! I bought a whole bunch of stuff for less than 20 bucks. It was crazy!

Anyway, baby girl (who will be 1 in 4 days) is still yelling so I need to attempt to stop her before she wakes Christian up. Later.

Man it feels good to be a gansta!

Have you ever been bitten by a “maque’toe”? I haven’t either. Maddux has. Lots of times. He’s allergic to them. He just asked for a band-aid for his most recent “maque’toe” bite. Never mind that you don’t know what a “maque’toe” is. He does and they bite him. He’s weird.

Yesterday we spent all day at Chris and Lauren’s. It was fun. Lauren and I took the kids to the park and Burger King for lunch. We will have to do that on a regular basis. We did some coupon clipping so the master can show me how to shop and save money. Lauren is the QUEEN of savings. I am stunned at her ability to do it and also worried a bit about her mental health. (I am totally kidding! Love!)

Audrey and Christian had a blast together….I think. He’s 5 months younger then sissy and just about as tall. He’s skinny though. He gets that from his dad.

OOOOH! Audrey took 5 steps all by her self Sunday! I am so proud of her! She’s going to be a walking machine before long. I have videos of her taking 3 or 4 steps at a time and then falling down. Maybe one day I will upload them. She stands on her own all the time. I just know one day she’s gonna go for it and never look back.

We (Lauren and I) were supposed to go shopping today but I was exhausted. I barely remember Shelly coming over this morning and taking Jakob and Spencer to school. I got a call at 9 this morning saying “I told you so”! So, I can no longer make plans with Lauren. I just have to show up and go with it. I am lazy like that.

We are planning (Dylan, the kids, and I) to go to Waco sometime in the next couple of months to meet my sister Kelly. We haven’t seen each other in 13 years and I am so excited for that. Talking to her on the phone is like talking to someone I have known my whole life. Which is probably why I was so tired this morning. 3 hours flew by fast and before I knew it, it was 11:30 at night.

Anyway…I have to go start laundry. Jake and Spence will be here soon.

Rainy days and Mondays…

03 Apr

You know the rest!

I hate rainy weather. The poor boys haven’t been outside in days thanks to rain and mud. It stinks.

Maddie, Audrey, and I haven’t done a thing all day long. We are still in our jammies and it’s 2:30 in the afternoon. It’s just one of those days. I have a laundry list of things to do (including the laundry) but no motivation.

Jakob and Spencer got their report cards last week. I am always so proud of them. Jakob had 4 A’s and 2 B’s. He was so close to all A’s. He’s really buckled down this last nine weeks. Spencer is on the Honor Roll this nine weeks also with 1 A, 2 B’s, and 1 C. He brought his math up from an 85 to a 97. That’s HUGE.

We should be hearing from baseball coaches in the next few weeks. I am excited about that and so are the guys. Spencer chose to play first grade coach pitch again this year so he could be with his friends. He could have played second grade, but he wouldn’t have had an relationships with those kids anymore. And if he decides next year that he doesn’t want to do a third year of coach pitch he can play up into kid pitch.

Jakob’s grade is doing an Earth Day Recycling competition. He needs to collect all the plastic shopping sacks he can between now and April 21st.  So, if anyone out there has any shopping sacks that they just don’t know what to do with, then send them our way. Email me at Amanda at lifeinrandom dot com if you need anymore details than that. It can be ANY plastic shopping sack just so long as it’s plastic. The individual wins a $50 gift card but the whole class wins a pizza party.

Anyway, kids are home and the house is a disaster so I have to go.
