I didn’t even write an Audrey birthday post!
Well, the Princess turned 1 on April 17th. We just had a small party at home. She loved opening presents but cried tears when icing from the cake got on her hands. She has never been messy before and she was not thrilled with it at all. She got her first rose from mommy and daddy among other stuff that she didn’t really need.
The older guys started baseball practice. They have developed leaps and bounds since last season. Jakob is hitting SO much better and you wouldn’t even recognize his fielding. It’s awesome. His throwing is more precise and much less goofy looking.
Spencer’s coach told the kids on his team to look to him as an example when it comes to fielding. He gets on the ball and makes the stop. I am so proud of him. He loves playing and is eating up that his coach called him out!
Maddux is having a blast just being Maddux. He is turning into such a boy. He was hitting balls off the tee yesterday and it was crazy how hard he was hitting them. He is going to be so ready for Baseball next year.
Jakob also learned to ride his bike! This is a major feat! I felt awful with him being 9 and not knowing how to ride, but there was never a safe place to teach him. We took him to the park last Sunday and he was riding a lot better than he was Christmas morning, but he still fell a bit. Yesterday we went riding again and he rode the whole length of the park, only falling once. That is great! Spencer’s training wheels will be coming off soon.
Spencer had his end of the year field trip Thursday and it was so fun! We rode the Amtrak to Gainesville and went to the Frank Buck Zoo. It was a lot of fun! Maddux went on the train too and was so stoked! The whole way to Gainesville he kept telling everyone they were riding Thomas.
Mom, Brian, Michael, Kimber, Alex, Marissa, Joshua, Audrey, and Shelly went to the zoo with us and it was fun, despite being like a million degrees outside. I am glad I got to go this year. Last year Audrey was too little for me to leave her.
Mother’s Day was nice. I had a great day just watching my boys and Audrey and appreciating how lucky I am to have such amazing kids and a great husband. They did everything to make me feel loved and appreciated. Granted, I could have done without my flip flop breaking halfway through the park and having to walk barefoot the rest of the way to Dylan’s moms house, but all in all, it was a good day.
Right now, I am sitting here freezing and dealing with some nasty drainage and dizziness so that sucks. I think I am going to go cuddle with Maddux a bit.
