Swimming Lessons=OVAH!

27 Jun

Thank goodness! No more waking up at 6:30 in the morning for at least a month (when Aud goes).

Jakob passed 2 levels in 2 weeks! I am stunned! He started the session in level 3, tested to level 4, and passed on to level 5! He is one level away from Guard Start now, which he really wants to do.  It’s rockin’!

Spencer did not pass because he can’t tread water well and basically refuses to try, but that’s Spencer for ya. Stubborn as can be. I have no idea where he gets that from. :p

Amazingly, Maddux passed???? How that happened since he didn’t cooperate most of the week I will never know, but next year, he will be in level 2.

Anyway…..Missy is trying to remove her diaper and telling me NO! as she does it. I need to go deal with this.

Tiny Dancer Maddux

24 Jun

is STILL tiny! He only weighed 34 pounds at his last weight check. I am sick of people giving me crap about how small he is. It’s not that strange because hello……Look at pictures of Dylan and I when we were his age. I am pretty sure you will see a similarity. His Dr isn’t worried, so why should I be. He is on the same growing pattern he’s been on since the day he was born.  At least he doesn’t weigh 60 pounds and looks like a midget Sumo wrestler. He’s healthy and that is ALL that matters.

All that said, here are some pictures of the tiny tot at his first T-Ball game. He loves it and has made a best friend!

Running after a ball:

Running after the ball

On 3rd with Daddy

Jakob had a game last night and had an AMAZING throw from the fence to the second base bag! They held the runner to second when he clearly could have gone all the way home on that hit. They still lost, but I don’t even care after that throw!

The ball seasons are winding down which in some ways I am thankful for, but not in others. I love going to the ball field, but I loathe the heat.  All of Jake’s games are 6:15ers and it’s HOT out at that time. Audrey likes going a lot more this year than she did last year. She claps and says “YEAH!” every time someone else does……no matter which team it’s for! She’s such a goof!

Spencer is learning to swim more. He’s finally treading water which is a pretty big deal. They made him do it in the 11 feet today. He was a little miffed about it, but he got over it. He cracks me up! Every time his group goes to jump off the diving board, he has to go to the bathroom. Convenient right? I thought so too.

I cant’ remember if I posted that Jakob is officially in level 4, but he is. He had to swim 3 laps yesterday in the 8 to 11 foot. He was exhausted by the 2nd lap and had to have lifeguard assistance on the 3rd. He’s so lazy!

My boys are too funny and are loving their summer thus far. I hate to think it’s only a month and a half until they go back to school, but it is. It’s going by to fast this year and before I know it, Maddux will be walking into Pre-K! :(

So….

19 Jun

What’s new?

Not too much here. Things have been as hectic as ever and I am sure they aren’t going to settle down anytime soon.

I guess I will start my update with Jakob. (Here’s where I would put a picture, but apparently Photobucket is having some issues) Anyway, his baseball season is in full swing. Those of you who haven’t seen him in full uniform have NO idea what you are missing. It’s the cutest damn thing you’ve ever seen. He’s amazingly adorable. Wal-Mart sponsored their uniforms this year so that was pretty cool.

They’ve yet to win a game, which isn’t shocking because at this stage they should have a pitching machine, not kids pitching,  but the Y is cheap and we obviously aren’t getting what we paid for with that. But it’s ok. They are getting better with every game.

Swimming lessons started this week and Jakob was a repeat Level 3. This was his 4th time doing level 3 and he just felt he was ready for more. So yesterday he asked his instructor to test him to see if he was ready for level 4. They tested him yesterday and his instructor said he was MORE than ready but he’d have to get the final approval from the level 4 instructor. He got  that approval today after working completely one on one with the level 3 instructor for the entire hour. He is STOKED! And so am I! It’s awesome that he finally got to move up. I feel much more confident with him around the water. He’s 2 levels away from Guard Start.

Spencer is also in level 3 swimming lessons this year. He’s being stubborn about treading water, but he will get there. They said they were going to practice with him until he gets it.

His baseball season is going FANTASTIC! He was the all-star of the game one night. He was catching balls, making outs, scoring runs. He’s awesome. They have won 2 games back to back. This last one they ALMOST lost it at the very end, but they kept it together and got the big win! Awesome!

Maddux Ryan started T-ball this year and it’s the cutest thing EVER! All of these kids are 3 and 4 years old and just run all over the place! Half of them would hit the ball and they run after it instead of going to first base. It’s hysterical.

He doesn’t start swimming lessons until next week. I am nervous about him because he checks out very easily and is very stubborn. If he doesn’t want to do it, he isn’t going to do it. He’s very much like his mama that way.

Audrey Michelle was officially weaned from the bottle at 12 months old and became a walker at 13 months old. She is quite a bit ahead of her brothers as far as milestones go, but I have heard that girls mature faster than boys. I wish she’d just slow down a little bit. She’s becoming a kid and not a baby. :(

She is SUCH a girl! She loves bracelets and being told she is “So Pretty!”. She sits incredibly still while I do her hair and she loves to dance. She will dance all day long.

That’s my pretty long winded update, maybe I will get some pictures uploaded?
